The archival pigment print on Hahnemühle paper "Vectorial body collapse" (2026) combines historical representations of bodies with technical structures, creating a hybrid image in which biological and mechanical systems overlap. The body appears as a material organisation continuously affected by forces, stimuli and relations with its surroundings. The machine can be understood in a similar way, as a system composed of interconnected elements whose function depends on the relations between its individual parts. Mechanical components are serial, repeatable and interchangeable within larger structures, while the human body is conventionally associated with individuality and singularity. Lamas brings these conditions into proximity and treats body and machine as systems composed of parts, exchanges and connections.
