Der Titel „District & Charm“ (2023-2025) ist einem Gedicht des irischen Lyrikers Seamus Heaney entlehnt und verbindet die Vorstellung eines bestimmten Gebiets mit der Idee der Magie von Gemeinschaft. Die Skulptur kann selbst als Ort gelesen werden, als ein Gefüge, in dem Bronze, Holz, Hanf und Wachs in ein sensibles Verhältnis treten. Innerhalb der offenen Bronzestruktur hängen Wachsfiguren von Hanffäden, die wiederum an Holzstäben befestigt sind und definieren ein Gebiet, in dem sich Zusammenhänge ereignen. Daneben ruht eine runde Wachsform, die das Bild des Kreises auf andere Weise spiegelt. Die hängenden Wachsformen sind Abdrücke des negativen Hohlraums einer geballten Faust und stehen wiederum für ein gefasstes Inneres und auf übergeordnete Struktur von Gesellschaft und das Verhältnis von Innen und Außen, Präsenz und Leere. Die unterschiedlichen Materialien sind klar voneinander getrennt und bilden dennoch eine Einheit, die sich hält und stützt.

The title District & Charm (2023–2025) is borrowed from a poem by the Irish poet Seamus Heaney and brings together the concept of a specific area with the idea of the magic of community. The sculpture may itself be read as a site: a configuration in which bronze, wood, hemp, and wax enter into a sensitive relationship. Within the open bronze structure, wax figures are suspended from hemp threads attached to wooden rods, defining a zone in which connections occur. Next to it a round wax mold rests that reflects the image of the circle in a different way. The hanging wax forms are casts of the negative space of a clenched fist and thus stand for an inner-self as well as for overarching social structures, the relation between inside and outside, presence and void. The different materials remain clearly distinct and yet form a unity that holds and supports itself.
