    Lou Jaworskis minimalistische geometrische Arbeit HYPATIA (2020) besteht aus einer Kombination von Ferritmagneten, eingebaut in die architektonische Struktur eines Server Racks. Das Zusammenspiel von künstlich geschaffenen und eingesetzten Materialien, die alle in aktuellen Technologien und Industrien verwendet werden, wird durch die Interaktion zwischen materieller Autonomie, ephemerer Abstraktion und physikalischen Gesetzen verstärkt. Im Zentrum des Werks steht eine Magnetplatte, die durch die materielle Anziehungskraft ausbalanciert und teilweise zum Schweben gebracht wird. Der Kurator Daniel Matijević beschreibt das Ausreizen der materialbasierten Autonomie, die der Künstler sich zu eigen macht wie folgt: „In der interesselosen Selbstgenügsamkeit seiner eigensinnigen Objekte findet Jaworski eine durch und durch originelle Antwort auf die Frage nach einer zeitgenössischen Autonomie des Werks. Was ihn aber eher zu interessieren scheint, ist – unabhängig davon – die Eigenständigkeit der Dinge.“

    Lou Jaworski’s minimalist geometric work HYPATIA (2020) consists of a combination of ferrite magnets built into an architectural structure. The interplay of artificially created and engaged materials, all utilized in modern technologies and industries are enhanced by the interaction between material autonomy, ephemeral abstraction and physical laws. In the center of the work, a magnetic plate is balanced by the material power of attraction and partially made to float. Curator Daniel Matijević describes the artist's exploration of material-based autonomy as follows: „In the disinterested self-sufficiency of his obstinate objects, Jaworski finds a thoroughly original answer to the question of the contemporary autonomy of art. Yet what he as an artist seems to be more interested in is, regardless of this, the independence of things.“
