Niko Abramidis &NE

In der Arbeit Encrypted Vision (2020) verbindet Niko Abramidis &NE gestickte rote Augen, mit umgekehrten Dreiecken oder Pyramiden auf einer mit Sprühfarbe bearbeiteten Leinwand. Zum einen verweist das Augenpaar auf hybride Kreaturen, die häufig in den Bildwelten des Künstlers eine wichtige Rolle spielen. Zum anderen bedeutet die Kombination der beiden gestickten Elemente das „Auge der Vorsehung“, ein Motiv, das bereist seit dem Alten Ägypten verwendet wird und sich auch heute noch in der Symbolik der Freimaurer und auf dem 1 Dollar Schein wiederfindet. Abramidis &NE zeichnet ein Bild der Vermengung von Geld und Macht und wie bestimmte Zeichen auch heute noch in der Corporate Identity von modernen Unternehmen aufgegriffen werden. So tauchen Dreiecke häufig in Logos von Unternehmen auf, die sich mit Blockchain und Kryptowährungen beschäftigen und es gab nicht nur zuletzt diverse Skandale über Pyramid Schemes (dt. Schneeballsystemen) bei Kryptowährungen.

In the work Encrypted Vision (2020), Niko Abramidis &NE connects embroidered red eyes with inverted triangles or pyramids on a canvas, treated with spray paint. In one way, the pair of eyes refers to hybrid creatures that often play an important role in the artist's pictorial worlds. In another, the combination of the two embroidered elements means the "Eye of Providence", a motif that has been used since ancient Egypt and is still found today in the symbolism of the Freemason and on the 1-dollar bill. Abramidis &NE paints a picture of the amalgamation of money and power, as well as certain symbols that are still used today in the corporate identity of modern companies. Triangles can often be found in the logos of companies that deal with blockchain and cryptocurrencies and, last but not least, there have been some scandals about pyramid schemes for cryptocurrencies.
