Die Wandarbeit „RS 001“ vereint Jaworskis Auseinandersetzung mit Marmor, Drucktechnik und Malerei: auf der marmorierten Oberfläche der horizontalen Steinplatte verlaufen Linienraster von Hell nach Dunkel. Die feingliedrige Unterteilung des Marmors erweckt den Eindruck einer pixelhaften Landschaft, die sich über den Stein zieht und den Blick zwischen Bildträger und Bild springen lässt. Dieser Effekt entsteht, da die Oberfläche des Steins mit einem feingliedrigen Nylonnetz überzogen ist, welches in der Industrie auch als Transportschutz verwendet wird und hier den Blick verstärkt auf die Struktur des Steins lenkt. So wird der Marmor als klassisch skulpturales Material hier nicht nur zum Bildträger, sondern gleichzeitig zum Bildinhalt. Lou Jaworski beschäftigt sich intensiv mit Wahrnehmungsmechanismen, Rasterstrukturen und der Definition des Bildes, sowie deren Reproduzierbarkeit. In vorigen Arbeiten auf Zeitungspapier angewandt überträgt er die gängige Vervielfältigungstechnik des Rasterdrucks nun auf Steinplatten und setzt die auf Reproduzierbarkeit ausgelegte Technologie in einen Zustand der Zeitlosigkeit.
Durch die Maserung der Platten wirken „RS 001“ und „RS 003“, insbesondere wie Doppelungen, die beliebig vervielfacht werden könnten und erinnern an serielle Fotografien und ablaufende Filmstreifen, wobei es sich bei genauer Betrachtung um einzigartige geologisch entstandene Strukturen handelt.


The wall works of the series "RS" combine Jaworski's explorations of marble, printing technique and painting: on the marbled surface of the stone slabs, a grid of lines run from light to dark. This creates an optical interference in which the print and the grain of the stone overlap, opening a new layer on the "canvas" that seems to suggest depth. The delicate subdivision of the marble creates the impression of a pixel-like surface that stretches across the stone, allowing the eye to jump between the pictorial background and the image. This effect is further intensified by the fact that the surface of the stone is covered with a delicate nylon net, which is also used in industry as a transport protection, and which here draws the eye to the structure of the stone. Thus, marble and stone as a traditionally sculptural material is not only the canvas, but at the same time the subject matter of the picture. Lou Jaworski deals intensively with mechanisms of perception, grid structures and the definition of the image, as well as their reproducibility. Applied to newsprint in previous works, he now transfers the common reproduction technique of halftone printing to stone slabs, setting the technology designed for reproducibility in a state of timelessness.
Through the grain of the slabs, "RS 001" and "RS 003", seem like duplications that could be multiplied at any rate and are reminiscent of serial photographs and expiring film strips, although on closer inspection they are unique geologically created structures.
