Niko Abramidis &NE integrates classic furniture into the expansive installations, creating a fictional office atmosphere that reflects upon the effectiveness of the financial world in a humoristic way. The Octagon Table (2020) is comprised of geometric shapes – four wooden table legs each in the shape of the letter N form a cube on top of which an octagonal table-top of pink marble rests. The composition of geometric shapes can be seen as representative for the thinking of large financial companies, whose systems are marked by efficiency. Like a logo, the letters form the foundation of the table and at the same time symbolize mathematical equations in which N can be substituted for any natural number. It is freely applicable and is utilized by the fictitious company’s business strategies to calculate unlimited growth. On the table lies a stack of blank paper – the future of the company is not yet clear.
