In seinen malerischen Werken nutzt Niko Abramidis &NE eine professionelle Stickmaschine um seine Skizzen auf die zuvor mit Sprühfarbe bearbeitete Leinwand zu übertragen. Dem Künstler ist dabei wichtig, diese manuelle Tätigkeit mit der Stickmaschine selbst auszuführen und nicht zu delegieren. Der Charakter seiner Skizzen und Kritzeleien sollen in den Bildern sichtbar bleiben, zugleich aber auch durch die Prozesse von Digitalisierung und Duplizierung eine eigene Prägung erhalten.
In Anamorphic Growth (2018) streben alle Bildelemente – wie der idealen Weisung der kapitalistischen Finanzökonomie folgend – nach oben. Eine kleine Weltkugel wird von einem gestickten Pfeil begleitet, der an die ansteigenden Kurse des Aktienmarkts denken lässt. Im Hintergrund schwebt omnipräsent die „Multi-Hand“, ein wiederkehrendes Motiv in Abramidis &NEs Werkkomplex. Sie erinnert zugleich an ein Multi-Tool oder an ägyptische Hyroglyphen und steht für die Optimierung des Menschen innerhalb dieser kapitalistischen Gesellschaft.

For his paintings Niko Abramidis &NE utilises a professional embroidery machine to transfer his sketches onto canvas, previously treaded with spray paint. It is a vital part of the artist’s process to carry out this manual work of embroidering himself and not to delegate it, as the character of his sketches and doodles must remain visible in the paintings, at the same time creating their own character through the processes of digitalisation and duplication.
In Anamorphic Growth (2018), all pictorial elements strive upwards, following the instructions of the capitalist financial economy. A small globe is accompanied by the embroidery of an arrow, which makes one think of stock market prices. Omnipresently hovering in the background is the multi-hand, a recurring motif in Abramidis &NE's created parallel universe, which - reminiscent of a multi-tool and Egyptian hyroglyphs - stands for the optimization of the human being within this capitalist society. The multi-hand is also found in another embroidered drawing describing a shamanistic figure seemingly conjuring growth with raised arms.
